About FLOA
The Florida Lacrosse Officials Association, Inc. is a Florida not-for-profit corporation, incorporated in 2004. Our members are the officials who work boys lacrosse at public and independent schools across Central Florida.
We are the local association, not a governing body. Certification runs through USA Lacrosse, registration and background screening through the FHSAA, and games are assigned in ArbiterSports. What FLOA does is train officials, hold the local membership, and put crews on fields.
The FHSAA requires officials to belong to a sanctioned local association. You cannot register alone or contract directly with a school, which is why talking to us is the first step rather than the last.
Board & leadership
The Florida Lacrosse Officials Association, Inc. is a Florida not-for-profit corporation governed by a five-member Board of Directors. FLOA does not currently have a Secretary. If you are not sure who to ask, start with any Board member and your question will reach the right person.
Elliot Torres
Elliot assigns FLOA's officials to games. Assignments themselves are made and accepted in ArbiterSports; contact him about availability, conflicts, or joining the assignment pool.
David Sackman
David is the first person to talk to if you are thinking about officiating. Ask him anything before you spend money on registration or gear.
Day-to-day website direction goes through the President, with the Vice President as backup.
